Pilton Street
1998
Watercolour
Rosemary painted this street numerous times and was regularly requested to paint pictures of the residents' houses. They would even offer her refreshments if they saw her painting in their street. Many buildings on Pilton Street are Grade II listed. The artist captures the telephone box, which adds a striking pop of red that unifies the scene. This red connects to the house in the painting and the small red car. The striped shop blinds suggest a time when there was a local shop and a post office. We can also see the little red post box and the post office sign.
