Bridge Chambers
1990s
Watercolour
Rosemary frequently painted Bridge Chambers in Barnstaple, a Victorian Gothic landmark built between 1872 and 1873 by architect R.D. Gould. The building was commissioned by the Barnstaple Bridge Trust to provide a hall and chambers for the town, as well as to serve as an investment property. Designed to complement the nearby medieval Long Bridge, Bridge Chambers has housed the County Court, an auction hall, various offices, and community groups. It is currently undergoing transformation into a cultural and community hub, according to The Bridge Trust.
